Day Before

9:00 update: Opening the east side of Thunderhead all the way to the bottom, everthing except Emmons & Damnation. 95% open. No wind, unlimited visibility. Groomers reporting in this day before Christmas at 5 am with snow falling and 3 inches new having accumulated. Snow has been coming down lightly and consistantly all night. Winds are calm with the temperature 19 degrees. The forecast shows a 100 percent chance of snow through the day with this Pacific system expected to produce bursts of snow all the way into the evening, dwindling late tonight. Watch for an update as patrol will advise on further openings after getting on the snow this morning. Everyone enjoying the conditions, this is icing on the cake.
