noon: unlimited visibility. 8:30 update: The lightest of flakes sifting down, the wind has dropped off and clouds lowered. Visibility 500 yds. Groomers reporting in this last day of February with snow lightly falling at 5am. Yesterday was a day of change with a little sun and a little snow later in the afternoon, skiers and boarder telling us the snow is great with the glades soft and lovely. All night flurries have been moving through with clouds thin and Kalispell still in sight. Just an inch has added up, looks to be alot of moisture coming this way on the radar. It is Thrifty Thursday, adult tickets $25 for a full day of riding.
Wednesday 2-27
9:00 update: Still overcast with high clouds, unlimited visibility, light wind on top and temperature of 17 degrees. Groomers reporting in this Wednesday morning at 5am with an inch of new snow. The nearly full moon is fuzzy behind overcast skies and the forecast is for scattered snow fall today. Come on up and make tracks on freshened slopes. Check out the terrain park and make plans to participate in the slope style event planned for March 23.

Sunday 2~24
9:10 update: thin cloud layer hanging in, hoping it moves out, still unlimited visibility. 8:30am update: Sun is shining bring sunscreen and camera. It is a beautiful day! Groomers reporting in this Sunday morning with an inch of snow having accumulated on the 24 hour stake. Light flurries early in the night with nothing going on this early morning. High thin clouds with unlimited visibility and a slight wind, temperature is 16 degrees. Snow has been adding up all week making for great conditions. Lots of folks especially enjoying the glades as it gets deeper and softer, lots of pow still to be found. Groomed runs are rolled out beautifully for long carving and cruising. Not looking for alot to happen today weather wise. Young Fawns and Young Blacktails on the slopes with the start up of Snow Sports School’s second 5 week session. All ages and abilities enjoying winter on the slopes, something for everyone on Blacktail Mountain.
Saturday Snow 2~23
9:10 update: 4 inches of new snow, deeper in spots as some wind overnight. Sun peeking through and wind 5-10 from the south on mountain top, calm on slopes. Groomers reporting in at 5am this Saturday morning with 3 inches of new snow on the slopes and currently snowing. It snowed during the day yesterday adding up slowly as the flakes were small. The heaviest snow fell between 1-3 am this early morning with nice big flakes accumulating quickly. Groomers on the Crystal lift will have a good coat of fresh for you to put your tracks into. Some wind coming from the SW on the top of the mountain, protected on our north facing slopes. Can see the lights of Kalispell with clouds above and light snow falling. Forecast is for continued bands of snow through the day and into the evening. Will update with the patrol’s report on total inches by opening. Come up and enjoy fresh snow.

Thrifty Thursday 2~21
8:40 update: winds are calm, sky is blue, snow is great, can’t beat the price……….. get on up here for a terrific day on the slopes. Groomers reporting in this Thursday morning at 5am with an inch of new snow on the 24 hour stake. Yesterday snow fell in big flakes with a couple of slow moving bands of weather passing through, just a few flurries during the night. An active pattern is shaping up that is forecast to bring snow beginning tonight and through the weekend. It is Thrifty Thursday, adult tickets $25 for a full day of fun on the slopes.
Wednesday 2~20
10:45 update: big flakes falling, freshies off and on today. 9:00 update: Clouds have lifted for unlimited visibility on freshened slopes this morning. Groomers reporting in this Wednesday at 5 am with an inch of new snow. It is lightly snowing with clouds moving in and out this early morning. Forecasters are calling for continued light snow off and on during the day with more significant snow accumulation to move in Friday night and Saturday. Saturday is the start of the second 5 week Snow Sports Programs for young skiers and snowboarders learning and perfecting their on the slope skills.

We will be closed this Tuesday and open again Wednesday. Next weekend is the start of the second 5 week session of Snow Sports Programs for young skiers and boarders learning and perfecting their skills on the slopes.

Groomers reporting in this Monday morning at 5 am with 3 inches of new snow on the 24 hour stake. Stars above and lights of the valley below with little wind. It is the last day of the Presidents’ Day Weekend and we are enjoying new snow. Conditions are great this bonus day as corduroy has been beautifully laid out and powder stashes abound. Dean will be on the mountain with Demos from Lakeside Ski & Sports, there will be music apres ski and we may see the sun today. Come up and enjoy, we will be closed tomorrow Tues 2/19 and back on our regular schedule Wednesday through Sunday.
